2014 Cecilia Johnstone Build

Every three years the Edmonton legal community comes together to build the dreams of a deserving and hard-working family. The Legal Build is a partnership between Habitat for Humanity Edmonton and the Edmonton legal community. The Edmonton Legal Build is the only Habitat for Humanity project in Canada that is supported wholly by the legal community and represents a unique, lasting legacy of our profession in Edmonton.

Each legal build is dedicated to the memory of one of Edmonton’s distinguished jurists. The 2014 build is dedicated to Madam Justice Cecilia Johnstone, who is remembered by all who knew her for her spirit and energy, as well as her devotion to her profession and her role as a highly-respected judge. She was also a past Board member and volunteer for LESA.

To support the Legal Community’s 2014 Cecilia Johnstone Build, Race the Roof – Walk and Run is planned for September 21, 2013 at Sir Wilfred Laurier Park. It is the first Legal Build fun-run, and because Justice Johnstone was an avid long-distance runner, it will fittingly benefit the 2014 build dedicated to her.

All members of the public are welcome to participate as the legal community and their friends and family come together for a 10 km run and a 5 km fun run/walk, with all proceeds going to the 2014 Cecilia Johnstone Build. Visit the website to find out  more information and to register.
