One of the regular contributors for Business Law Fundamentals is Audrey Wakeling, partner at Witten LLP and practicing lawyer since 1980. Her expertise is in corporate and securities matters, trusts, wills, and estate administration, and for 26 years, she has been sharing her wealth of knowledge as a LESA volunteer in various capacities.
Audrey has written three chapters in the publication: “Forms of Business Organizations,” “Directors, Officers and Shareholders,” and “Extra-Provincial Registrations.”
“I think that Business Law Fundamentals provides a comprehensive overview of business law and is a good starting place for anyone who has limited familiarity with the area,” explains Audrey. “In most instances, it emphasizes breadth rather than depth of coverage. What I mean by that is that legal principles are stated without a lot of fleshing out, but there are references given, or in the online version hyperlinks are included, to related cases and legislation so that the reader can delve further into the subject.”
