This paper provides basic information on the Alberta Lawyers Indemnity Association’s (“ALIA”) role in negligence claims within residential real estate transactions. Summaries of the current Alberta Lawyer’s Professional Liability and Misappropriation Indemnity Group are included as well as examples of common claims received by ALIA.
