Effective Legal Writing (Workshop)

November 5 | 9:00 am12:00 pm

No matter what a lawyer is writing—from a research memo to an opinion letter to an argument for court—it needs to be clear and persuasive. Professional writing is a craft you can improve with knowledge and practice. This interactive workshop focuses on effective writing principles you can apply to everything you write.

Learn how to:

  • Critically assess the effectiveness of your legal writing
  • Convert legal terminology and jargon into plain language
  • Adapt your writing style for the appropriate purpose and audience

Through practical exercises and expert guidance, consider common errors and develop strategies to avoid them.

Participants should bring a writing sample to the workshop.
