Six Albertans have been chosen for the 2011 Alberta Order of Excellence. These new members will receive the province’s highest honour in recognition of their longstanding service to a wide range of local, provincial, and national endeavours.
As quoted on the Government of Alberta website, “All Albertans can be proud of the work these remarkable citizens have accomplished,” said Premier Ed Stelmach. “They deserve to be honoured for their many contributions to our province, along with our sincere thanks for their service as distinguished ambassadors of the Alberta spirit.”
One of the six members chosen, Patricia L. Blocksom Q.C., of Dunphy Best Blocksom LLP in Calgary, is a longtime supporter of the Legal Education Society of Alberta. We would like to extend our congratulations to Patricia as well as the 5 other newly selected members, which include Martin Cohos (Calgary), Bruce Hogle (Edmonton), Walter Paszkowski (Sexsmith), Eric Rajah (Lacombe) and Aritha van Herk (Calgary).
The ceremony will occur in Edmonton on Wednesday, October 19.
