Canadian Institute for Advanced Legal Studies Post-graduate Scholarships

The Canadian Institute for Advanced Legal Studies is pleased to announce scholarships for graduate studies in law. They include

  • The Right Honourable Paul Martin Sr. Scholarship is for graduate studies at the University of Cambridge, England. Two scholarships are available, and candidates include those who been awarded a law degree from a three or four year program at a faculty of law in a Canadian university in the four years before the candidate will commence studies at the University of Cambridge. This includes bar admission students (CPLED students).
  • French Language Scholarship, which is a newly-established scholarship for law students, bar admission students (CPLED students), and articling students (including law clerks) for post-graduate study in law at a French language university in Europe for the 2014-2015 academic year.

The Right Honourable Paul Martin Sr. Scholarship covers full University and College fees (i.e. full tuition at the University of Cambridge), and a monthly living allowance, subject to any other awards received by the successful candidate.

The new scholarship for studies in the French language is similar in its aspirations to The Right Honourable Paul Martin Scholarship offered by the Institute for graduate study in law at Cambridge University each year.  It covers the full amount of the tuition fees payable by the recipient to a French-language European university and includes an allowance to cover a portion of living expenses and reasonable travel expenses to and from the European university, subject to any other awards received by the successful candidate.

Applications may be submitted by mail, fax or electronic mail and must be received no later than December 31, 2013. Learn more about these scholarships and apply for them by visiting the websites: The Right Honourable Paul Martin Sr. Scholarship and French Language Scholarship.
