The courts have announced that the King’s Bench Filing Digital Service (“FDS”) program will expand further to include filings to Civil Justice Chambers in Calgary. This expansion will apply to hearings scheduled on or after May 27, 2024.
Effective March 25, 2024, the King’s Bench FDS must be utilized by counsel submitting material for Civil Justice Chambers in Calgary or Edmonton. The program will allow lawyers to submit an Application for Civil Justice Chambers, along with supporting materials and a mandatory Form of Order. The submission process for adjournments, ex parte applications, and restoring matters to the list will remain unchanged.
