The court has recently announced the deferral of changes to Family Docket Court and the launching of Edmonton’s King’s Bench Appearance Court (“KBAC”) pilot project.
Family Docket Court will now remain on the Court’s 2024 Fall schedule. The anticipated changes to Family Docket Court will now be deferred until at least January 2024.
Effective September 3, 2024, the Edmonton court has launched a pilot project to reduce the number of KBAC from Friday weekly to Friday biweekly. The first KBAC will be set down for Friday, September 6, 2024. The pilot project aims to afford greater efficiency to the KBAC process and encourage pre-booking of matters.
