Bill C- 62 received royal assent on February 29, 2024 and pushes back the date of eligibility for medical assistance in dying (“MAID”).
Formerly, eligible individuals that qualified for MAID based on mental illness could qualify on March 17, 2024. Bill C-62 amends the Act to push back this date to March 17, 2027.
