On November 15, 2024, the Honourable Kent H. Davidson will be sworn in as Chief Justice of the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta.
Justice Davidson devoted 36 years to his law practice which included work within many areas of the law, including litigation (construction, real estate, and commercial), labour and employment law, public inquiries, mediation, insolvency, arbitration, criminal law, and personal injury. Justice Davidson was admitted to the Alberta bar in 1983. In 2008, he was appointed to King’s Counsel and in 2019, he was appointed to the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta.[1]
The swearing in ceremony will begin at 4:00 pm and will be held in Courtroom 317 at the Law Courts Building in Edmonton, Alberta. The LESA team wishes Justice Davidson warm congratulations on this monumental achievement and best wishes for this next chapter!
