LESA is pleased to announce Stephanie Dobson as the newest member of the LESA Board of Directors. She looks forward to bringing a rural and youthful perspective to the Board.
“Since I moved to Lloydminster from Richmond, BC, I have been sharing my perspective with LESA about the importance of reaching beyond the main Alberta centres of Edmonton and Calgary for courses, and integrating e-learning ideas into the programming. I look forward to sharing this on a board level.”
Stephanie, who lives in Paradise Valley with her husband and three children, started a practice in Lloydminster in 2006 after completing her articles at Miller Thomson in Vancouver. She works as a collaborative divorce lawyer, family mediator, and parenting coordinator at Kindrachuk Dobson in Lloydminster and is a practicing member of the Law Societies of Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Before becoming a Board member, Stephanie was a volunteer presenter at the 46th Annual Refresher in April 2013.
“It was such an honour to be amongst such quality speakers. The seminar was run like a well-oiled machine – very organized and top rate,” says Stephanie.
The next step for Stephanie was to become a Board member. She wanted the experience of participating at the governance level of the organization.
“I am excited about becoming a board member of LESA because it is a leader in the provision of legal education in Alberta, and is admired nationally and internationally. It is an honour to participate in continuing to shape the continuing legal education in Alberta.”
