Meet Muhammad! LESA Staff Feature

Muhammad Umer Khan is the most recent addition to the LESA team, albeit not that new anymore. Muhammad first joined LESA at the start of the global pandemic, back in April of 2020. Joining us as the Online Systems & Web Administrator, he helped us pivot our offerings as we began to deliver programs online and was a key player in the recent launch of LESA’s livestream programs.

Muhammad graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Computing Science. Before coming to LESA, Muhammad’s experiences were academically focused, including an internship with the University of Alberta and McGill University where he worked on an open-source software application for collecting clinical and neuroimaging data for longitudinal research studies.

In June of 2021, LESA launched–not only–an all-new fully redesigned LESA Library but also flipped the switch on a completely new website featuring improved searchability and intuitive navigation–two projects that Muhammad’s skillset and expertise came in very handy for. With his love for problem-solving, his ability to juggle multiple tasks, and his interest in effective user flow and interface design, he is steadily working on providing solutions to improve the LESA website to facilitate the best experience possible for our valued customers. LESA is very fortunate to have Muhammad on the team!

When he is not at work, Muhammad is an avid photographer and enjoys finding new landscapes to photograph. Check out one of his snaps below of the Edmonton skyline.
