The articling experience can significantly influence the trajectory of an articling student’s career. Establishing a good principal-articling student relationship and providing a supportive and enriching articling experience are very important to your articling student’s success. This training course is intended to provide all principals with the skills and tools necessary to successfully fulfil their role in the articling process.
This course consists of 8 self-directed lessons covering topics on Law Society and CPLED duties and requirements, learning objectives during the articling term, how to be an effective mentor, dealing with difficult conversations, discrimination and harassment laws, cultural competency, and how to support your articling student through their articling term.
Please note that the Principal Training Course is a mandatory training course required by the Law Society of Alberta. Successful completion of this course is required to be approved as a principal by the Law Society of Alberta.
