LESA was saddened to hear of the passing of the Honourable Justice Brian Burrows on November 19, 2022. Justice Burrows was an alumnus of the University of Alberta Faculty of Law and attended the University of London, England where he earned his LL.M.
Justice Burrows was appointed to the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta in 1998, a position he held until his passing. He was also Deputy Justice of the Nunavut Court of Justice and was heavily involved in the Anglican Church of Canada. He was appointed to King’s Counsel in 1992.
Justice Burrows was an accomplished jurist and his contributions to the Alberta legal community will be fondly remembered.
