We recently provided our Surrogate Forms Manual subscribers with an update to reflect changes in light of the new Wills and Succession Act. It has come to our attention that the NC8 form included in our package did not capture a recent amendment converting references from “deceased” to “testator”. We are following up with subscribers directly; in the meantime, we are posting a new MS Word version of form NC8 here as a free download. We pride ourselves on the quality of our educational resources, and we regret any inconvenience this may have caused.
In light of the recent and impending changes to wills and estates law in Alberta, the Legal Education Society of Alberta is developing and updating additional educational resources in this area. Volunteering for the Legal Education Society of Alberta is a fantastic way to develop professionally, while giving back to the legal community. If you would like to become involved, please contact our office!
As always, we thank you for allowing the Legal Education Society of Alberta to be your partner in continuing legal excellence.
